Before we dive into the decluttering process, it's important to understand the science behind the relationship between clutter, stress, and anxiety:

  • Cortisol and Stress: Clutter can stimulate the release of cortisol, the stress hormone, leading to heightened stress levels.

  • Visual Overload: A cluttered space bombards your brain with excess visual information, leading to cognitive overload and stress.

Decluttering isn't just about tidying up; it's about nurturing your mental well-being:

  • Physical Impact: A cluttered space can contribute to physical ailments like headaches and sleep disturbances, which further exacerbate stress and anxiety.

  • Emotional Impact: A tidy space can promote a sense of accomplishment and control, reducing emotional distress.

Now that we understand the importance of decluttering for stress and anxiety relief, let's explore practical steps to get started:

  • Start Small: Begin with a single room or even a drawer to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

  • Decluttering Categories: Sort items into categories like keep, donate, recycle, or discard.

  • Sentimental Items: Tackling sentimental items can be challenging. Consider keeping only those that truly bring you joy.

In this blog post, we'll explore how decluttering your space can have a transformative impact on your mental well-being. From the science behind decluttering to practical tips, we'll delve deep into the calming connection between a tidy home and a peaceful mind.

Make your bed in the morning.

Why is it important?Because it gives you the impresion that your day is already on the right path. No matter how busy you are,if you take five minutes to arrange your bed and make it look beautiful and clean will make such a difference.

Also, put everything in order in your room and then go grab a coffee and make your plan for the day ahead.

Write in your journal daily.

I find it relaxing when I start my day thinking on what's important for me,so I write my thoughts in my journal.Of course,it does involve discipline, like in any new habbit you want to implement in your life. So keep in mind that it takes a while to do it naturelly, but it will worth your time and effort.

Practice self care on a daily basis.

Motherhood can become overwhelming.Having little kids, everyday responsabilities you have to deal with, meal planning, house cleaning and so on might have as result a high level of anxiety insead of peace, calm and happiness.

Why ? Dealing with too many things at once can give you the false impression that you are not worth it.Or that your job is not important.Or even that you are not enough appreciated by your family.

I advice you to make time for yourself. You need to love and respect yourself first,so that you can be your best version and be there for your loved one whenever they ask your help or support.

If you don't know your value, you don't live your life on it's full potential.

So invest in things that make you happy.Spend time with You.Give yourself credit to try new experiences.Learn that it's natural to make mistakes.

Accept your vulnerabilities.Put aside things that clutter your mind.Take care of your mental health by organizing every little aspect on your daily life.

I find it so easy when I have my house clean and organized.I am more relaxed and ready to deal with new tasks .

Stress Less and Focus on What Matters.

Beeing organized now and focusing on little details today, will help you choose what is important for you and your family later .Does stress help you deal with your problems?Of course not. It's exactly the opposite. You become more anxious and your mental health has to suffer. But what if instead of stressing you take steps on beeing more positive and optimistic even when you're down?

Evaluate yourself. How is your self esteem?Do you trust yourself enough?Sometimes is ok to let things go if you feel they no longer help you.

Prioritize.Organize.Declutter your mind.

Find activities that make you happy.Invest your time wisely.

Acknowledge the emotions attached to items, then let go of the item if it no longer serves a purpose or brings joy.

Extend decluttering to your digital life, clearing out old emails, files, and social media connections.

The KonMari method, popularized by Marie Kondo, emphasizes decluttering with intention:

  • Spark Joy: Ask yourself if each item "sparks joy." If not, it may be time to part with it.

  • Tidy by Category: Organize and declutter by category, not location, to ensure a comprehensive cleanup.

Spread Love and Be a Blessing.

The way you act,the way you speak, the way you interact with others reflect your heart.

Be kind with people.Help when you can.Invest your time in relations.

Good things happen when you let yourself to be happy and accept that vulnerability is not always a sign of weekness.

Be blessed and not forget to be a Blessing!
